Adore Softphone Provides SIP & IAX Based Softphone Software (Vista, VPN, Video Support).
Pros: Adore Softphone delivers SIP-based software phone. You are able to communicate with other PCs based on the SIP or the session Initiation protocol. You can interface with the public network too and call phones too. Being internet based this application will let you communicate with notebooks, PDAs and stand alone VoIP phones besides the desktops. Similarly besides the landline phones you`d be able to communicate with mobile handsets too. It supports SIP industry standards and is fully inter-operable with most major Internet Telephone Service Provider (ITSP) and VOIP software and hardware. With the decisive benefit of profitability and feasibility, VoIP fulfils a considerable requirement for replacing traditional telecommunication in the near future, which is not too far from everybody`s desk.
Adore Softphone can be easily customized for you taste through a GUI that`s simple. It is able to provide excellent call quality even in dialup connections. The built in G729 codec helps. Most of the typical phone features are available. These include last call redial, local signaling, touch tone dialing, volume controls for the microphone and the speaker etc. Configuration wizard sets up the configuration without user intervention. Multilingual supports including those of multi byte code are supported. You can choose from a set of skins for the look & feel you like.
Cons: With all the instant messengers supporting voice communication and services like Skype giving me similar or better facilities do I need this? I am not too sure you would.
Overall nice features and easy to use, this is good for a 3 star rating.
